CEE dance professionals invited to the first China Dance Exchange

Nataša Zavolovšek, director of the Exodos Ljubljana, attended the first China Dance Exchange organized on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China.

Funded by the Ministry of Culture of China (MOC) and executed by China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG), the aim of the programme was initiating a dialogue between Chinese dance professionals and their counterparts from Central and Eastern European countries, sharing skills and knowledge in the dance field, promoting China’s dance talents and informing delegates of China’s dance tradition.

Around 20 artistic directors or managers from major international dance festivals or dance institutions of Central and Eastern Europe joined the programme. The whole programme lasted from 9 to 25 October 2014, during which meetings were arranged with major dance companies in Beijing, Zhengzhou (capital city of Henan province), Shanghai, Xi’an (capital city of Shann’xi province). The tour also included attendance at the Beijing International Dance School Ballet Competition and Shanghai International Performing Arts Fair.
