CRADLE

THE FIRST CHINA-CEEC CO-PRODUCTION

The opening show of the 20th Exodos Festival explores our acceptance of differences and our search for particularities and similarity. What was laid into the cradles of young dancers, and what did they acquire ever since they walked from it? First of all, the production touches upon the value that nowadays has been almost forgotten: everyday attention, contact with other people, with the society and the surroundings.

Gregor Luštek, known for his specific authorial expression, researches with young dancers how the body from one cultural environment responds to the movements, movements, emotions of the body from another. In the "intercultural bodily dialogue" the perception of one's own body, living, thinking, experiencing others, accepting tradition and its values also changes.

The circle - the energy that circulates - represents in traditional Chinese philosophy an infinite energy that does not disappear, but returns. The circle is an essential element of movement in Cradle.

The Cradle is the first project of the C-CEEC Dance Union.
